Raw Concentrate Skin Serum- Application & Use

Raw Concentrate skin serum is one of our most popular products. It is suitable for all skin types and is great for facial as well as body application.

So we thought we would answer some of the most common questions asked to help you guys find your perfect Skin Serum routine.

When should I use Raw Concentrate?
Raw Concentrate is fantastic as an everyday facial moisturiser apply a couple of drops (you really don't need any more for everyday use) and gently massage into your skin in an upwards motion until it has been absorbed. If you are planning on using this product before make-up application make sure you allow around 30minutes for the serum to be fully absorbed into your skin. If you don't think you have time for this, why not try massaging it on after jumping out of the shower- whilst you dry your hair and get dressed it will allow the serum to have time to work its magic before you do your make-up.

Can I use Raw Concentrate as a night Serum?
We find that using a few extra drops of serum just before bed time is great- you should wake up and notice how soft your skin feels in the morning. However we would recommend that you do this as an extra form of pampering and not as an every night routine. When you sleep, your body recharges and repairs its self. By using a night cream or serum every night you will begin to inhibit your bodies natural function of repair as it won't need to help you provide the moisture that your skin naturally needs. After a while your body will stop this function as it will deem it unnecessary- therefore we would recommend not using a night creme or serum on a regular basis, just when your body could do with a little helping hand.

How should I apply Raw Concentrate?
Apply a couple of drops to clean hands and rub together until warm. Then gently apply to your skin starting from your neck upwards, in small circular motions. This will help increase circulation to the skin as well as ensuring the serum is gently absorbed.

Can I use Raw Concentrate on my body too?
Raw Concentrate is a fantastic moisturiser and can be used all over your body. Apply a couple of drops to the area you wish to apply the product too and massage in to your skin in small circular motions.

A little really goes a long way with this product- it is easily absorbed and smells great. A little gem in your skincare routine.

Oil & Skincare

Over the psst decade, possibly more, "oil-free skincare" advertisement has been all over our tv screens, magazines  and radio stations. It is usually in products that are made specifically for those with oily skin- because who wants to add extra oil to their skin if they have oily skin right? Wrong.

Oil and your skin love each other, very, very much! By using products that are drying (and remove your natural oil) your body will work extra hard to produce more to help keep your skin moisturised. Now obviously no one wants oily skin, so how do you get rid of the oil without producing more oil? Add oil!! It's sounds all confusing and sounds like a down right lie, but it's not. One of the basic rules in chemistry is that like dissolves like. You wouldn't use water to dissolve oil or vice versa, but you would use water to dissolve water, and oil for oil. The same principal applies to you skin, if you use oil on your skin, it will help remove excess oil by dissolving/ emulsifying it.

Many people have become scared of using facial oils because of the idea that you shouldn't use oil on oily skin, but oils are actually wonderful for your skin and your skin will love you for using it. The amount of excess sebum you produce will eventually decrease and you will be left with much less oily and shiny skin.

Why not try out our 100% natural skin serum, packed full of skin loving oils that will help to nourish and protect your skin!

Exfoliation

Hi Guys,

So we have been super busy at Raw Towers over the past few months and have seriously neglected our poor little blog so we do apologise! However, onwards and upwards as they say (Not sure who they are but hey).

So we will now be posting a new blog every Tuesday and Thursday on all things skincare related. So if you have any thing you would like us to cover please don't hesitate to get in touch!

Today's subject is Exfoliation!

So what is exfoliation and what is its purpose?
Exfoliation is the removal of the oldest dead skin cells on the top layer of your skin (sounds gross right?) By exfoliating you are aiding the unblocking of pores, keeping your skin healthy and clean & helps to prevent acne break out.

What do I use to exfoliate?
There are lots of different ways you can exfoliate, it is about finding a way that works for you. Below are some of the different tools you can buy that can be used for exfoliating.

Brush

 Loofah Sponge

                    Sugar Scrub

These are all really easy to use exfoliators. Every person's skin reacts differently so find one that best suits you, doesn't dry your skin out too much, and leaves your skin looking healthy and glowing, not red and sore.

How often should I exfoliate?
Exfoliating is not a daily thing! It is something you should do once to twice a week, again this depends on your skin type!

So I hope all these tips on exfoliating have helped! If you have any other questions please feel free to leave a comment and we will get back to you as soon as we can!

My Dark Little Secret

The title of this post may have enticed you and so it should. My dark secret could soon be yours too!

So I guess I should tell you what my dark little secret is huh? Dark Chocolate! YUM!! Not only is dark chocolate actually good for you but if you have a massive sweet tooth like myself this will be a brilliant little secret for you.

Dark chocolate contains a compounds called flavonoid, these are plant-based compounds with powerful antioxidant properties, which means they help reduce inflammation, promote healthy arteries and help fight aging by preventing and repairing cellular damage, all of which is fantastic for your skin and over all health!

So what chocolate should you choose? If you are going to eat dark chocolate for its amazing health benefits make sure you are eating one that contains 70% cocoa content or higher as this will have the most beneficial properties. Avoid white or milk chocolate as this will contain a greater amount of sugar, milk, fat and butter along with other ingredients that are added to chocolate to give it, its distinctive flavour.

Remember to eat your chocolate in combination with a healthy balanced diet and enjoy!
