Be Happy In Your Own Skin // Raw Skincare

We know how tough it is to live up to the expectations of the beauty industry- we are part of that industry. So we want to take a minute to tell you how beautiful you are, every lump & bump, every scar, the bits you hate about your self- we love.

Every body is different, there is not one person on this planet who is what the beauty industry deems as "perfect"- everyone has something they are unhappy with, or something that someone else does not like, but that is what makes us as unique.

It is time that we all start loving ourselves, loving what we are and who we are. There is no harm in trying to improve yourself change yourself (you don't need improving). As long as your are happy with who you are that is all that matters. If you aren't happy with who you are, it's time to change that image of yourself. Tell yourself you are beautiful, that you are worth it and most of all tell others too!

Everyone has their own journey, their own story and their own battles. Make someone's day and tell them how nice they look, how happy they make you or that you love them to the moon and back. Small steps will mean a big distance covered in the future, and the bigger steps we take to improving the industry's perfection of what beauty really is, the quicker we will get to that goal!

Beauty is you.

Please share this with someone who is struggling to believe that they are beautiful & tell them how beautiful they really are!

Exfoliation

Hi Guys,

So we have been super busy at Raw Towers over the past few months and have seriously neglected our poor little blog so we do apologise! However, onwards and upwards as they say (Not sure who they are but hey).

So we will now be posting a new blog every Tuesday and Thursday on all things skincare related. So if you have any thing you would like us to cover please don't hesitate to get in touch!

Today's subject is Exfoliation!

So what is exfoliation and what is its purpose?
Exfoliation is the removal of the oldest dead skin cells on the top layer of your skin (sounds gross right?) By exfoliating you are aiding the unblocking of pores, keeping your skin healthy and clean & helps to prevent acne break out.

What do I use to exfoliate?
There are lots of different ways you can exfoliate, it is about finding a way that works for you. Below are some of the different tools you can buy that can be used for exfoliating.

Brush

 Loofah Sponge

                    Sugar Scrub

These are all really easy to use exfoliators. Every person's skin reacts differently so find one that best suits you, doesn't dry your skin out too much, and leaves your skin looking healthy and glowing, not red and sore.

How often should I exfoliate?
Exfoliating is not a daily thing! It is something you should do once to twice a week, again this depends on your skin type!

So I hope all these tips on exfoliating have helped! If you have any other questions please feel free to leave a comment and we will get back to you as soon as we can!

My Dark Little Secret

The title of this post may have enticed you and so it should. My dark secret could soon be yours too!

So I guess I should tell you what my dark little secret is huh? Dark Chocolate! YUM!! Not only is dark chocolate actually good for you but if you have a massive sweet tooth like myself this will be a brilliant little secret for you.

Dark chocolate contains a compounds called flavonoid, these are plant-based compounds with powerful antioxidant properties, which means they help reduce inflammation, promote healthy arteries and help fight aging by preventing and repairing cellular damage, all of which is fantastic for your skin and over all health!

So what chocolate should you choose? If you are going to eat dark chocolate for its amazing health benefits make sure you are eating one that contains 70% cocoa content or higher as this will have the most beneficial properties. Avoid white or milk chocolate as this will contain a greater amount of sugar, milk, fat and butter along with other ingredients that are added to chocolate to give it, its distinctive flavour.

Remember to eat your chocolate in combination with a healthy balanced diet and enjoy!
